JOB DESCRIPTION:
COORDINATED CAMPAIGN COMMUNICATIONS/DIGITAL STAFFER

Position overview: The Kentucky Democratic Party is seeking a communications/digital staffer
to work through the 2019 election cycle on the governor’s race with the coordinated campaign.
This position is ideal for an individual with one cycle of communications or digital-focused
campaign experience. This individual will oversee the day-to-day production and implementation
of the communications strategy with the press and online.
Reports to: Coordinated Digital Director and Coordinated Communications Director
Term: Immediately through November 2019

Responsibilities
● Producing creative content for social media, including graphics, copy, and short videos
● Day-to-day management of campaign social media platforms
● Advancing and producing press events (requires travel around Kentucky)
● Capturing photos and videos of campaign events, livestreaming major events
● Drafting press releases, advisories, and other written communications
● Media monitoring
● Assist with other campaign duties as needed

Qualifications
● One cycle of campaign digital or communications experience is preferred
● Experience working in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and
Premiere
● Extensive writing experience and a love for copy editing (detail-oriented!)
● Comfortable managing common social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
● Experience with MailChimp is fantastic but not required
