Field Organizers

The Kentucky Democratic Party is seeking Field Organizers to deliver victories up and down the ballot on November 5, 2019!

 

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Kentucky Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign is hiring Field Organizers for the 2019 election cycle! The KDP Coordinated Campaign will work to elect Democrats up and down the ticket in Kentucky, including the Gubernatorial race which is considered the top Democratic pickup opportunity in 2019.

Field Organizers will be responsible for implementing an aggressive field plan and managing the GOTV operation within an assigned region of the state. Field Organizers will report directly to Regional Field Directors and be based throughout the state of Kentucky.

REQUIRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Great interpersonal skills — ability to listen well and communicate effectively.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to work long hours, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience volunteering or working for campaigns is a plus but it is not required.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle.
  • Strong commitment to Democratic politics and ideals, and electing Democratic candidates in Kentucky.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Implementing all aspects of the field program in assigned turf.
  • Recruiting, training and managing volunteers and interns.
  • Coordinating and participating in direct voter contact programs to persuade and mobilize voters.
  • Building and managing volunteer canvasses and phone banks.
  • Meeting weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals.
  • Representing the Kentucky Democratic Party and candidates in your assigned region.
