New Poll Shows COVID-19 is Most Important Issue to Kentuckians, They Disapprove of McConnell’s Response
A new poll from Ipsos/Spectrum News shows that COVID-19 is the most important issue to Kentuckians and they think Mitch McConnell is doing a terrible job in his response to it.
The poll of 1,001 Kentuckians shows that 50 percent say COVID-19 is the most important issue right now. When it comes to the federal government’s response to the pandemic, 60 percent have a negative response, including 34 percent who think McConnell’s federal government is doing a “poor” job.
Overall, 51 percent of Kentuckians think Mitch is bad at all aspects of his job, including 39 percent who strongly disapprove of McConnell.
In a statement, Kentucky Democratic Party spokesperson Marisa McNee said Kentuckians are realizing that Mitch doesn’t care about them, just himself.
“Kentucky families know Senator McConnell has been sacrificing the needs of the Commonwealth for his own political ambition. He’s turned his back on Kentucky’s workers and small businesses by continuing to delay another much needed round of COVID relief, going as far as telling the White House not to make a deal to help Kentuckians because Mitch has other priorities. Kentuckians are going to reject McConnell’s failed leadership and elect a true leader, Amy McGrath, in November.”
