Teachers & Workers Across Kentucky Calling Out Bevin for His Record of Bullying
From Henderson and Paducah to Bowling Green and Pikeville, local teachers and workers have been standing together to hold Matt Bevin accountable for his record of bullying educators and tearing down working families.
Here’s what Kentuckians are saying about Matt Bevin throughout the “Won’t Be Bullied By Bevin” tour:
“He just don’t understand. He’s not from here.” – Operating Engineers representative Rick Lewis.
“How arrogant that he is. I hope he doesn’t intend it to be that way, but when he continues to make remarks and he makes comments like that he does not regret anything that he said about a public school employee it just strikes me as how arrogant that he is.” – Dave Strode, a retired teacher
“Retired teacher Terrie White taught in Lyon County for 33 years. White said she doesn’t support Bevin because of his policies on teacher pensions.” – WPSD
“The main message that I want to send out to all working people in Kentucky is that they need to actually vote for someone who supports them.” – Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 184 business manager Kyle Henderson
“Over the past four years, we’ve seen time and time again that Matt Bevin will have his initiatives. And when the people of Kentucky have tried to hold him accountable, have checked him, his first line of defense is to insult.” – Letcher County teacher Dan Brennan
“There are many of us, Republicans and Democrats, who are working to elect Andy Beshear. Matt Bevin is a Republican but that doesn’t mean everybody in his party in Kentucky is happy with the job that he’s done and the things he’s said and his behavior.” – Velvet Dowdy, a retired teacher
