Chappell will be a changemaker in the state Senate
Crystal Chappell is a Muhlenberg County special education teacher, a member of the KEA and a proud member of a pro-union household.
She’s running for the state’s 6th Senate District seat representing Butler, Hopkins, Muhlenberg and Ohio counties.
As a working-class candidate, she understands the hardships of living paycheck to paycheck and the need to create opportunity for all Kentuckians.
“I am running for state Senate because I believe that we can do better. We should protect workers’ rights, benefits, and pensions. We should strive to enhance our economy and the educational opportunities available to our youth,” Chappell said. “We should make decisions with the future impact in mind to enhance our state for generations that follow. I am ready to be a changemaker for my students and the families of Kentucky.”
For Chappell, our public education system is the greatest vehicle for societal change and Kentucky needs proactive advocates protecting it. And the state must seek new revenue to fund pensions rather than cutting them.
