Glenn will create opportunity for all
Jim Glenn’s return to the House will continue his legacy of creating opportunities for all Kentuckians not just the privileged few.
Glenn is running for the state’s 13th House District representing part of Daviess County.
Experiencing first hand the value of education and how it can change someone’s life, Glenn was the first person in his immediate family to attend college.
He learned the values of hard work and fair play from his father, a Chicago policeman, and his perseverance and keen business eye from his mother who worked in retail sales.
As a football player and track athlete at Wisconsin State University-Superior, Glenn learned the value and importance of teamwork and team spirit. He graduated with a degree in business management. Committed to the concept of lifelong learning, Glenn went on to earn a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, and later a doctorate in higher education from the University of Kentucky.
As a 30-year resident of Owensboro, Glenn has worked as a professor at the Owensboro Community College and taught microeconomics, corporate finance, personal finance, marketing, management, and general business classes.
“In 30 years, the number of graduates at OCC has increased by 30 percent,” Glenn said. He hopes to help increase that trend while he is in office.
He has served as the interim business dean for OCC managing an $8-million budget.
Glenn’s love for teaching is matched by his dedication to the community. He’s running to help people, students, and families in both the business and education communities.
He has served numerous community organizations including the Daviess County Cooperative Extension Services [4-H], H.L. Neblett Community Center and League of Women Voters.
Glenn has also served as the director of the Micro Business Center, president of the Owensboro Career Development, and as a member of the Board of Directors at the Owensboro RiverPark Center and the Owensboro Dance Theatre.
