People’s voice to be Edwards’ action
Linda Edwards will proudly serve with commitment, dedication and a genuine love of the area and the people she will represent.
Edwards is running for the state’s 6th House District which includes Lyon and Marshall counties and part of McCracken County.
“I am running for Kentucky House of Representatives District 6 because I believe every person in my district; no matter who they are or where they come from deserve a fair shot at success and a good life,” said Edwards.
“That’s why I will work every day to strengthen the middle class. Be the voice for working families. I will always be union strong. Protect and perpetuate the pensions of the public sector. I will be the voice of the ‘voiceless,’ the children and the elderly. Promote safe schools in every school district in Kentucky.”
Edwards is a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and cousin to the greatest bunch of people around. She’s been married to her husband Russ Edwards for 44 years.
Edwards was born in the Scale Community of Marshall County. She began her schooling at Sharpe Elementary. Two years later, her family moved to Benton where she graduated from Benton High School in 1966.
Edwards entered Murray State University in the fall of 1966. While at Murray, she majored in elementary education, minored in English with an area of interest in political science. Later, she received a master’s degree in reading, and Rank 1 certification in educational leadership.
Living her entire life in the two counties that she will represent as a state representative, Edwards will work for a better future for all Kentucky families.
“When elected, I will serve in the legislature to turn the people of District 6 voices into action and work to create a better tomorrow for all.”
