Putting families first in the 81st: Morgan Eaves
Morgan Eaves feels the people of Madison County deserve better representation in Frankfort.
A Richmond city commissioner and practicing attorney, Eaves is running for the state’s 81st House District which includes part of Madison County.
Eager to move her district forward, Eaves wants to put the people’s interests first.
“I was tired of feeling like we deserve better,” Eaves said. “Madison County runs on education, with EKU, Berea College and our public school system being far and away our largest employers. But our representatives in the legislature continued to cut funding for education, which has impacted our local economy and put the future of our children at risk.”
After graduating from Madison Central High School, Eaves attended the University of Mississippi and earned a bachelor’s degree in Journalism. She graduated from Florida Coastal School of Law in 2013, passed the Virginia State Bar in 2013 and the Kentucky Bar in 2014.
She’s the founder of Richmond Young Professionals Associations and sits on the Richmond Area Arts Council board of directors and the Attorney General Consumer Protection Advisory Council.
Passionate about improving the quality of life in her district, Eaves wants to focus on issues related to poverty, drug addiction and jail overcrowding, economic development, and equal access to quality education and a living wage.
“We’ve suffered under the current administration, and it isn’t only our education funding,” Eaves said. “Our judicial and infrastructure funding has also dried up, leaving us with an overcrowded jail, no money to rehabilitate addicts, and inadequate roads.
“We can’t be left behind. I’m ready to lead the charge in bringing back true representation and advocacy for the families of the 81st District, raising revenue to invest in our citizens and common sense policies.”
