Voting for what is right: Parrett brings common sense to Senate
Sen. Dennis Parrett is running for reelection in the state’s 10th Senate District encompassing all of Hardin County and part of Jefferson County. Common sense and voting for what is right remain his compass.
He has held this seat unopposed since 2010 and is currently the Senate Democratic Minority Whip.
When asked about his secret to staying in office, Parrett said, “Use common sense and vote for what’s right.”
At the beginning of the 2017 legislative session, Parrett served on the following committees: Agriculture Committee, Appropriations and Revenue Committee, Banking and InsuranceCommittee, Enrollment Committee, Veterans, Military AffairsCommittee, and Public Protection Committee.
As a farmer in Hardin County, Parrett is co-owner of Cecilia Farm Service, a feed, seed and fertilizer company in Cecilia which is near Elizabethtown.
He is a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s in Agriculture Economics. He is married with three daughters and two grandchildren.
