FRANKFORT, Ky. — Today, Kentucky Democratic Party (KDP) Chair Colmon Elridge released the following statement on the conclusion of Kentucky’s 2025 legislative session, Republican failures to support Kentucky families and Democratic efforts to pick up the slack.

“While Kentuckians asked for better health care, jobs and education, Republicans spent their time in Frankfort making sure state law protects the discredited and dangerous practice of conversion therapy, stripping away protections for clean water and dissolving Kentucky’s ability to set its own worker safety rules. Meanwhile, Democrats championed policies that would improve the daily lives of Kentuckians, including bills to keep the lights on during extreme weather and help more families find affordable housing. Only one party in Frankfort seems to be focused on helping Kentuckians.”
