Colmon Elridge has been a leader in Kentucky and national politics for over a decade. Coming from humble beginnings, Colmon broke the cycle of poverty through hard work, education, and opportunities afforded to him through the Commonwealth of Kentucky, and the Democratic Party.
Nominated by Governor Andy Beshear, Colmon became the first African American elected to serve as the Chair of the Kentucky Democratic Party in 2020. Previously, he served two terms as the Executive Vice President of the Young Democrats of America and served for eight years as the Executive Assistant and Senior Advisor to Governor Steve Beshear.
Colmon is a proud graduate of Transylvania University, and earned an M.B.A from Sullivan University. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate at the University of the Cumberlands. Colmon, his wife Victoria, are the parents of Shaela, Colmon, Carter, and Camden, and live in Georgetown.
Morgan Eaves is the Executive Director of KDP, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Party. As a former Richmond City Commissioner — and having lost an election for a General Assembly seat by less than 25 votes — Morgan knows that every vote matters when it comes to building a better Commonwealth.
Morgan previously served in Governor Andy Beshear’s administration as both the Deputy Director of Legislative Affairs and the Director of Legislative Affairs for the Education and Labor Cabinet. A former practicing attorney, Morgan also advised a global nonprofit on education policy, working with Governors and state legislators in ten states to advocate for improved policy solutions for teachers, students and families across the Southeast.
Morgan graduated with a BA from the University of Mississippi and holds a JD from the Florida Coastal School of Law. A life-long Kentuckian, she lives in Lexington with her husband, Micky, and two dogs, Rose and Daisy.
